This practical guide describes the step-by-step process of preparing a scientific article and will help not only novice authors in writing their own publications, but also experienced authors in refining their work. The guide offers recommendations ranging from identifying research gaps and choosing a suitable journal to writing individual sections of the article, reviewing the process, addressing ethical aspects of scientific publishing, and utilising artificial intelligence. Specific examples are used to explain appropriate procedures not only for writing individual sections of an article from a content and linguistic perspective, but also for visualising results or recognising predatory journals.
